Get Famous Productions Interview

By Interviewer at 01/13/09 11:30

British Columbia, Music Video Production: Get Famous Productions Flyer Name of your website?

Get Famous Productions

Your name?

Alison Parker

Your Location (city, etc)

Vancouver, BC

Please give us a short summary of your website?

Get Famous Productions is a music video production company in Vancouver, BC. In addition to making high quality music videos for local artists, we also offer promotional photography, web site design, band logo designs, custom myspace layouts, EPK's, and pretty much anything related to music and film. We also assist artist with getting funding for music videos, epk's and website, and can help them receive up to $25,000.

What inspired you to launch your own website?

No company is complete without a website, and because we offer not only music videos that are filmed locally but web, logo, and myspace designs, I needed something to market our services world web... What better way than the world wide web?

When did you launch your first website, and what was it?

This is the first official website for Get Famous Productions, and it was launched in the summer of 2008.

How did you decide on a name for your website?

Our goal is help artists get more exposure and eventually get famous. Every service we offer helps will help any artist to reach that goal. Everyone wants to get famous. We're targeting those people who aren't famous YET. Plus it sounds cool! Get Famous! Also our slogan is "Get Seen. Get Heard. Get Famous".

What makes your website different from other, similar offerings?

Our site is different from other music video production companies in Vancouver for several reasons. 1) We offer more than just video production. With photography, web sites, logos, and more, we market ourselves as a one stop shop for musicians. And 2) We're hip. We're cool. We actually GO to concerts. We love music, film, and having a good time. We build a relationship with each of our clients and invest in their success. Many of our crew members have played in a band at one point in their life. We're young. Did I mention we're cool?

What is your eventual goal? (To sell it, keep it for income, secure a book or other mainstream media deal?)

My goal is take Get Famous Productions world wide. Eventually I'd like to expand the company is other major cities like Toronto, Montreal, Calgary, Seattle, San Francisco, and more for music video production. To run this company for the rest of my life and watch it grow into an empire. Actually it's more like a plan than a goal.

How does your investment of time and money balance against your success?

I love what I do, so although I do spend a LOT of time trying market my company and expand our services, if I get so much as a comment on a YouTube video, that's success to me. And it's worth every penny/second.

If you had an unlimited development budget for development, how would you change your site?

Flash. I'd have a crazy, interactive and impressive flash web site.

If your site got really big, really quickly, would you be able to keep up with the demand?

Let's hope so! There are always creative people looking for work in Vancouver, so I honestly don't worry about that. I welcome that.

What unexpected costs and headaches have you had to deal with?

None as of yet. I knew it wasn't going to happen overnight, or be free.

What has been your biggest challenge?

Establishing credibility as a new company.

What method has been most successful for promoting your website?

We recently had a motion graphic created that we put at the end of each music video we produce and upload to the internet. It gives the link to the website and I get so many compliments on it, I'm sure it's directing a lot of traffic. But the number one source of hits has to be Craigslist.

How long have you run the site already, and how long will you continue to keep it up if you don't enjoy big gains in traffic, income or popularity?

Been running the site since it was launched last summer, and will continue to operate it until the day comes that I'm so busy producing and editing music videos I don't have time. Then I'll hire someone else to do it!

What's the best thing about owning Get Famous Productions?

The amazingly talented musicians I get to meet here in Vancouver that I never would have known about before.

What is your website address?
