Name of your website?

Jade's Hip Hop Academy

Your name?

Jade Jager Clark

Your Location (city, etc)

Brampton

Please give us a short summary of what you are offering?

We are offering competitive and pre-competitive Hip Hop,Recreational Hip Hop for as young as 3 years old up to 50+, Reggae,Krump,Pop & Lock, African Dance and Capoeira classes.

What makes it different from other, similar offerings?

Our Studio specializes only to street dance and we bring the streets to the studio. We don't mix in jazz or ballet. We are rather unique in this aspect there most studio give beside hip hop, ballet, Jazz, tap etc.

What inspired you to launch your own website?

In this day and age, it is important to have your own website.Especially when you start a new business. I have many students at my studio who found us through our website.

How did you decide on a name for your website?

For us it was important that the name of the website would be the same as the business name.

When did you started your business?

Jade's Hip Hop Academy is a brand new Dance Studio who launched in 2006 and is rapidly growing. The studio started with 18 students and at the end of 2007 it had 70 students and it is still growing strong.

What is your eventual goal? (To sell it, keep it for income, secure a book or other mainstream media deal?)

To open up more dance studios.

How does your investment of time and money balance against your success?

They go hand in hand. The harder you work and the more time you put in, the more succesful you become.

If you had an unlimited development budget for development, how would you change your site?

I would get a bigger space, so I can have different classes running at the same time.

If your studio got really big, really quickly, would you be able to keep up with the demand?

It is growing really quickly at the moment. For now I can keep up with the demand because there is still room to expand the programs.

What unexpected costs and headaches have you had to deal with?

We haven't encountered unexpected costs or headaches yet because we had set up a business plan and continually plan ahead and calculate all the possibilities which might come to you.

What has been your biggest challenge?

To make people aware what Hip Hop really is. We see, often enough in competitions we attend Jazz or Ballet moves in a Hip Hop routine from other studios. Other people think, due to the music video's, that it's all about shaking....

What method has been most successful for promoting your website?

Making sure you are in all kinds of directories like yours, making sure search engines recognize your website, printing your website on flyers and business cards.

How has running your website differed from your expectations?

It's a lot more difficult than you think it is.

How long have you run the site already, and how long will you continue to keep it up if you don't enjoy big gains in traffic, income or popularity?

The site went up just after I started the business and will keep on running as long as I will have the business.

Who is the owner?

The Artistic Director is Jade Jager Clark.A street dancer herself, two times Provincial Champion in Hip Hop solo, represented Canada at the world Hip Hop Championships in Germany,2006 and teaches Hip Hop for 6 succesful years.

What is your website address?
