What inspired you to launch your own website?
A deep-seated need to get the word out about ĦĦĦTHE ZONE!!! and let people know that there are lots of good things in the world.
When did you launch your first website, and what was it?
Late in 2007. It was ĦĦĦTHE ZONE!!!
How did you decide on a name for your website?
ĦĦĦTHE ZONE!!! is derived from the name of our little organization. It comes from the inside of the cover for the first album by Providence, Rhode Island noise rock band Lightning Bolt.
What makes it different from other, similar offerings?
Its twice as rad, free, and totally off the wall. It's growing every day!
What is your eventual goal? (To sell it, keep it for income, secure a book or other mainstream media deal?)
To have a fully functioning online community for members of ĦĦĦTHE ZONE!!! and to get the word out to as many people as possible in an esoteric manner.
How does your investment of time and money balance against your success?
Pretty well so far. It was cheap to start and we're growing in hits every day.
If you had an unlimited development budget for development, how would you change your site?
The website would basically be like the real world but easier to sort through and with more free music.
If your site got really big, really quickly, would you be able to keep up with the demand?
I hope so. It's hard balancing this site with other things I have going on right now, but I think I should be able to keep up with it.
What unexpected costs and headaches have you had to deal with?
None so far!
What has been your biggest challenge?
Re-learning HTML from freshman year in high school.
What method has been most successful for promoting your website?
Word of mouth and promotion on relevant websites.
How has running your website differed from your expectations?
It's not at all different from my expectations so far.
How long have you run the site already, and how long will you continue to keep it up if you don't enjoy big gains in traffic, income or popularity?
I have run it for over three months and I will always enjoy more traffic no matter what.
Why?
Because we're rad that way.
What is your website address?
